Privacy Policy

62(Six-Two) School Management System ("we", "us", or "the Platform") takes your privacy seriously. This policy applies to the Platform and related services available through the mobile and web apps that you install from the Google Play Store or access in a browser. It explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can exercise control.

Data we collect

We only collect the information necessary to operate your school, communicate with stakeholders, and protect the system.

• Account & profile data (names, emails, phone numbers, roles, school affiliation).
• School operations data (classes, timetables, subjects, attendance, assessments, grades, assignments, reports).
• Student & staff records (bio data, ID numbers, photos, behavior notes, enrollment history).
• Device & usage metadata (IP address, user agent, session timestamps) for security and diagnostics.
• Billing and payment references (processed by third-party gateways; we do not store raw card numbers).

How we use your data

• Deliver the core school management experience, including messaging, reports, and grade management.
• Authenticate users securely, enforce permissions, and route data to the correct school tenant.
• Send transactional emails and SMS notifications through SendGrid, Africa's Talking, or other configured providers.
• Monitor system health and usage to prevent abuse, fix bugs, and plan new features (we rely on internal analytics tools).
• Support regulatory requirements, audits, and parental/student/teacher reporting obligations.

Sharing & third parties

We share data only when necessary or with your consent. Examples include:

• Third-party infrastructure providers (databases, hosting, backup storage) that process data on our behalf.
• Messaging/email partners (SendGrid, Africa's Talking, etc.) for authentication, notifications, and bulk alerts.
• Payment processors or fiscal authorities when you subscribe to premium services.
• Law enforcement, regulators, or courts when compelled by law.

Cookies and similar tech

We use essential cookies to maintain your session, guard against CSRF, and remember UI choices. We do not use cookies for advertising, and you can clear them via your browser or device settings.

Security & retention

We protect data with HTTPS/TLS, password hashing, and role-based authorization. Backups are encrypted and stored in secure regions. Data is retained as long as the school remains active, or as required by local laws, then archived or deleted upon request.

Your rights

• Request access to the data the Platform holds about you through your school administrator or by emailing support.
• Ask for corrections, deletions, or export of your profile where applicable.
• Control notification preferences and unsubscribe from non-essential communications.

Children and student data

The Platform is designed for school environments. Parents or legal guardians should liaise with their school's admin team to exercise rights on behalf of minors. We do not knowingly collect data from children outside of this context.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will highlight the updated version on this page and through in-app notices where possible.
